Manta Wallet: ETH Gas, MANTA and Moving Funds on Manta Pacific

A Manta wallet today means a wallet for Manta Pacific, an Ethereum layer 2 that stores its data on Celestia. It holds ETH, MANTA and tokens at your normal 0x address and pays gas in ETH. Manta Atlantic has shut down, and its MANTA can be claimed on Manta Pacific until November 16, 2026, 08:00 UTC.

A Manta wallet today means a wallet for Manta Pacific, the Ethereum layer 2 from Manta Network that keeps its transaction data on Celestia. It holds ETH, MANTA and other tokens at your ordinary 0x address, and every fee is paid in ETH, not MANTA.

There's one deadline to know about. Manta Atlantic, Manta's older chain on Polkadot, has stopped. MANTA that was left on it can be claimed on Manta Pacific, at a 0x address you control, until November 16, 2026, 08:00 UTC. Manta Pacific itself keeps running. Figures in this guide are as of October 24, 2026.

How a Manta wallet works on Manta Pacific#

Manta Pacific went live in September 2023. It runs on the OP Stack, the same software as Optimism and Base. However, it posts only commitments to Ethereum and stores the full transaction data on Celestia, a separate network built for data. That design cuts the biggest cost in most layer 2 fees, which is why Manta Pacific is so cheap.

Your Manta wallet address#

Your Manta wallet address is a standard 0x account. In Keylo it's the same address you have on Ethereum and every other EVM network, derived on m/44'/60'/0'/0/0. If you joined Manta's deposit campaigns with MetaMask, import that phrase and your first account shows up with its balance.

The balances don't travel with the address, though. ETH on Ethereum stays there until you bridge it. Also, there's no activation step, no memo and no minimum to keep.

What Celestia data means for you#

Cheap fees come with more trust. L2BEAT describes Manta Pacific as an optimium and lists it outside its rollup rankings, because the fraud proofs aren't in use and Ethereum can't check that the Celestia data is available. So a whitelisted proposer posts the chain's state to Ethereum, and nobody can challenge a bad one in practice. Its contracts can also be upgraded instantly. The L2BEAT Manta Pacific page lists every risk.

Day to day, the chain works normally, but weigh those trade-offs before you park large sums there.

Manta Atlantic has shut down: claim MANTA on Pacific by November 16#

Manta used to run two chains, and MANTA existed on both, so it pays to know which one you mean.

  • Manta Pacific is the EVM chain with 0x addresses and ETH gas. Keylo supports it.

  • Manta Atlantic was a Polkadot parachain, with Substrate addresses that look nothing like 0x. Manta didn't renew its parachain slot, which ran out around August 1, 2026, and Atlantic has stopped producing blocks.

Because Atlantic is down, its MANTA now moves by claim rather than by transfer. The Manta claim portal reads a final snapshot of Atlantic balances and works in four steps:

  1. Connect your Atlantic account with a Polkadot wallet: Polkadot.js, Talisman or SubWallet.

  2. Connect the Manta Pacific wallet that should receive the MANTA. The portal uses MetaMask on desktop and WalletConnect on mobile.

  3. Sign a message with the Atlantic account. It costs no gas and can't move funds; it only proves the account is yours.

  4. Confirm the claim transaction on Manta Pacific, which needs a little ETH there for gas.

Keylo can't connect to the portal, so it can't be the wallet in step 2. To claim straight into your Keylo address, import your Keylo phrase into MetaMask, whose first account is the same 0x address, and put a little ETH on Manta Pacific first. Or claim into a separate MetaMask wallet and send the MANTA to Keylo afterward.

The portal accepts claims until November 16, 2026, 08:00 UTC and says it rejects any submitted later. Manta's migration FAQ, last updated in March 2026, still describes an automatic airdrop of unmigrated MANTA, but the newer portal sets a hard cutoff, so don't wait for one. The claim covers MANTA only. The FAQ said other Atlantic assets, such as DOT, GLMR and USDt, had to be moved out before the chain stopped.

How to choose a Manta wallet: extension, app or web#

Any EVM wallet can be a Manta wallet, so you don't need a dedicated Manta extension or app. What differs is how easily you can get money in and out.

  • Extension and mobile wallets. Manta's bridge FAQ names MetaMask, OKX Web3 Wallet and Binance Web3 Wallet among the wallets that work with its bridge. They also connect to Manta Pacific apps. The bridge page asks you to add the chain to MetaMask before bridging from it.

  • Polkadot wallets. Polkadot.js, Talisman and SubWallet matter only for the Atlantic claim, because they hold Atlantic's Substrate accounts.

  • Hardware wallets. A hardware device paired with an extension wallet keeps the key offline, which suits larger balances.

  • Exchange accounts. These are handy for buying ETH or MANTA. But check that the exchange lists the Manta Pacific network for your exact token.

  • Web wallets. These open in a browser tab, with nothing to install. Keylo is one.

A good Manta wallet shows token contracts, so you can tell real MANTA from airdropped fakes. It also keeps ETH back for gas when you send everything.

Keylo works well for holding, receiving and sending ETH, MANTA and stablecoins here, and for seeing your NFTs. It's a weak fit if you need to bridge often or still have an Atlantic claim to make, because Keylo has no swap or bridge on Manta Pacific and doesn't connect to websites.

How to set up a Manta wallet in Keylo#

You don't add a network or install anything. Manta Pacific is already on Keylo's list.

  1. Visit the sign-up page and type your full name, email, phone number and a password, plus the password again. Tick the terms and select Create account.

  2. If you see "Check your inbox", confirm your email first.

  3. Select Create a new wallet, or Import a recovery phrase if you used Manta Pacific with MetaMask before.

  4. Open Manta Pacific from the asset list and note your 0x address.

  5. Back up a new wallet's 12 words. Go to Settings, then Recovery phrase, and confirm your password. Copy the words onto paper and confirm the ones Keylo asks for.

  6. Then turn on Two-factor authentication and pick an Anti-phishing code in Settings.

Your phrase never leaves the browser in readable form. Keylo encrypts it with a key built from your password (Argon2id, then AES-256-GCM), and its server stores only the result. If you lose the password and the phrase, nobody can rebuild the wallet.

How to receive and send ETH on Manta Pacific#

  1. Tap Receive and select Manta Pacific. The screen reads "Receive on Manta Pacific" and shows a QR code.

  2. Use Copy or Share, or show the code to the sender.

  3. On an exchange, pick Manta Pacific as the network, and only if it's listed for that token.

  4. Watch your activity list. With blocks about 10 seconds apart, a transfer usually appears within a minute, with an explorer link.

Your Manta wallet can receive MANTA or USDC first, but you still need ETH on Manta Pacific to move it. Plan how a little ETH will get there, such as through the official bridge or an exchange that withdraws ETH on Manta Pacific.

To send:

  1. Tap Send and pick ETH or a token on Manta Pacific.

  2. Paste or scan the recipient in To. Keylo verifies the checksum and warns if the address is a contract.

  3. Enter an amount or tap Max, which keeps ETH back for the fee.

  4. Tap Review and choose Slow, Normal or Fast.

  5. Check the network, recipient and fee, then tap Send. The status runs from "On its way" to "Sent", with a View on Manta Explorer link.

Sending to an exchange? First confirm its deposit page lists Manta Pacific for that exact token. Some exchanges accept MANTA only on other networks, and a deposit on an unsupported one may never be credited.

Manta Pacific fees#

Fees on Manta Pacific are paid in ETH and follow the OP Stack model. You pay an execution fee, which is gas used times a base fee plus a small tip, and a data fee. Because the data goes to Celestia rather than Ethereum, the data fee stays tiny.

On October 24, 2026, the network's gas price sat at about 0.001 gwei, so a token transfer cost a small fraction of a cent. The fee on Keylo's review screen includes both parts, and normal sends carry no Keylo fee. If a transfer ever stalls, tap Speed up to resend it with a higher fee.

But leaving is what costs money. The official bridge needs two transactions on Ethereum, a prove and a claim, both paid at mainnet gas prices. For a small balance, those can cost more than you're moving, so an exchange or a liquidity bridge may be the cheaper exit.

MANTA, stablecoins and NFTs on Manta Pacific#

Tokens on Manta Pacific are ERC-20s. Keylo finds the ones you hold through the network's explorer, and you can add others under Settings, Networks, Custom tokens. Always match the contract:

  • MANTA 0x95CeF13441Be50d20cA4558CC0a27B601aC544E5 is the governance and staking token. About 200,000 addresses hold it.

  • USDC 0xb73603C5d87fA094B7314C74ACE2e64D165016fb and USDT 0xf417F5A458eC102B90352F697D6e2Ac3A3d2851f are bridged. Circle doesn't issue USDC on Manta Pacific as of October 2026.

  • WETH 0x0Dc808adcE2099A9F62AA87D9670745AbA741746 is wrapped ETH, used by DEXs.

If you staked or locked MANTA through an app, that position sits in the app's contracts, not at your address. Getting it back follows the app's own rules, so check them before you plan a move.

Manta Pacific is one of the networks where Keylo shows NFTs. If you hold any, a Collectibles section appears when you open Manta Pacific, with each item's image, name and collection. It's read-only: Keylo can't send, list or mint NFTs. A note under the grid also warns that anyone can send you fake NFTs, so ignore links or "rewards" in their names.

Moving funds on and off Manta Pacific#

Keylo has no swap or bridge on Manta Pacific, so you need another route. You have three.

The official Manta bridge#

The Manta Pacific bridge moves ETH between Ethereum and Manta Pacific. It's a website, so it needs a wallet that connects to sites, such as MetaMask. You can import your Keylo phrase into MetaMask, whose first account matches, or send the funds to a fresh extension wallet first.

  1. Connect the wallet on the bridge site and choose Withdraw.

  2. Enter the amount and confirm on Manta Pacific, leaving a little ETH for the fee.

  3. Return once the next state root reaches Ethereum, usually within an hour according to Manta's bridge FAQ, and prove the withdrawal on Ethereum.

  4. Wait out the challenge period. Manta's contracts on Ethereum set it to three days as of October 2026, although that FAQ still says seven.

  5. Claim on Ethereum. The ETH lands at the same address, and Keylo shows it under Ethereum.

Third-party bridges and exchanges#

The official bridge page also links independent services, among them Relay, Layerswap, Orbiter, Owlto and Symbiosis. They usually take minutes, because they pay you from their own liquidity, but they charge a fee and need a connected wallet. Some exchanges also accept deposits on Manta Pacific for particular tokens.

Once your ETH reaches Ethereum, the Swap screen works there as usual. The swap and bridge page explains it, and the networks page shows which networks have it.

Manta Pacific scams and mistakes to avoid#

Manta's points campaigns drew huge numbers of wallets, so scammers followed them.

  • Fake claim tokens. On Manta Pacific's explorer, a token whose name is a "claim" website sits in about 193,000 wallets, nearly as many as hold real MANTA. Keylo lists every token the explorer finds at your address, so one can turn up in your asset list. A balance doesn't make it real, and you should never visit a site named in a token or NFT.

  • Fake claim pages. Atlantic holders are prime targets. The real portal is atlantic-migrate.manta.network, linked from manta.network. It works through wallet connections and signatures, so a page that asks for a recovery phrase is fake.

  • Late-claim offers. Anyone who messages you offering to claim your Atlantic MANTA for you, before or after the November 16 cutoff, is running a scam.

  • No ETH for gas. MANTA can't pay fees, so keep some ETH on Manta Pacific.

  • Approval drainers. Sites that ask you to approve a token can empty it. Keylo doesn't sign requests from websites.

Keylo staff never ask for your phrase or password. Get help on the Keylo support page, and read how Keylo protects your keys. Manta Pacific's data lives on Celestia, which the Celestia wallet guide covers. For a rollup that keeps its data on Ethereum, compare the Arbitrum wallet guide.

Manta wallet FAQ#

Do I need MANTA to pay gas on Manta Pacific?

No. Every fee on Manta Pacific is paid in ETH. MANTA is the network's governance and staking token. You can hold and send it in Keylo like any ERC-20 token, but you need a small ETH balance on Manta Pacific to move it. Receiving MANTA works fine at an address that holds no ETH yet.

Is Manta Pacific the same as Manta Atlantic?

No. Manta Pacific is the EVM chain with 0x addresses and ETH gas, and Keylo supports it. Manta Atlantic was a separate Polkadot parachain with Substrate addresses. It stopped producing blocks in 2026, and the MANTA left on it can only be claimed on Manta Pacific through Manta's claim portal, which closes on November 16, 2026, 08:00 UTC.

How do I claim my Atlantic MANTA on Manta Pacific?

Open atlantic-migrate.manta.network and connect your Atlantic account with Polkadot.js, Talisman or SubWallet. Then connect a Manta Pacific wallet such as MetaMask, sign the gasless message and confirm the claim with a little ETH for gas. Keylo can't connect to the portal, but MetaMask loaded with your Keylo phrase claims to the same address. Claims close November 16, 2026, 08:00 UTC.

What if I missed the Manta Atlantic deadline?

Manta's claim portal says claims submitted after November 16, 2026, 08:00 UTC are no longer accepted, and the claim only ever covered MANTA. Manta's older FAQ mentioned an automatic airdrop, but the portal's cutoff is the newer word. Ask in the #atlantic-migration channel on Manta's Discord or through @MantaNetwork on X, and treat anyone who contacts you with a late-claim offer as a scammer.

How long does a withdrawal from Manta Pacific take?

Through the official bridge, about three days after a prove step. You start on Manta Pacific, prove the withdrawal on Ethereum once the next state root is posted, then claim after the challenge period, which Manta's contracts set to three days. Both Ethereum steps cost mainnet gas. Third-party bridges listed on Manta's bridge page usually finish in minutes, for a fee.

How do I bridge in or out of Manta Pacific?

Not inside Keylo, which has no swap or bridge on Manta Pacific. You can receive, hold and send ETH, MANTA and other tokens there, and view your NFTs. To move funds between networks, use the official Manta bridge or a third-party bridge with an extension wallet, or an exchange that supports Manta Pacific deposits for your token.

Why are fees on Manta Pacific so low?

Manta Pacific stores its transaction data on Celestia instead of Ethereum, which removes most of the data cost layer 2 users normally pay. You still pay a small execution fee in ETH. In October 2026, a token transfer cost a small fraction of a cent. The trade-off is that you rely on Celestia for data.

Is Manta Pacific safe?

It runs reliably, but it asks for more trust than a full rollup. L2BEAT notes that its fraud proofs aren't in use, so a whitelisted proposer posts state to Ethereum unchallenged. Data lives on Celestia, one operator orders transactions, and the contracts can be upgraded instantly. Keep that in mind before holding large amounts there.
