Lisk Wallet: Lisk Chain Shutdown Dates, Last Exits and Your LSK

A Lisk wallet is your 0x address on Lisk Chain, the Ethereum layer 2 that shuts down on October 31, 2026. October 24 was the last day to start a withdrawal through the official Lisk Bridge. Until the shutdown, fast bridges are the only way out, and official withdrawals already started must be claimed on Ethereum by November 2.

A Lisk wallet is whatever app holds the keys to your 0x address on Lisk Chain, and its last job is getting your money out. Lisk Chain, the Ethereum layer 2 that Lisk moved to in May 2024, shuts down on October 31, 2026. Lisk says anything still on it after that can't be withdrawn or recovered.

Your LSK isn't going away, though. The token continues on Ethereum under the same contract, so LSK on Ethereum or on an exchange needs no action. Only what still sits on Lisk Chain itself has to move: ETH, LSK, WETH, stablecoins and staked positions. Dates below come from Lisk's chain closure FAQ and its October 23 post on X, checked on October 24, 2026.

What you can still do after October 24#

Lisk set three deadlines. The first has already passed, so start from the one that applies to you today.

Date (2026)

What it means

October 24

Last day to start a withdrawal through the official Lisk Bridge. Closed from October 25

October 31

Lisk Chain shuts down. Fast bridges stop with it, and anything left on the chain is lost

End of November 2

Last moment to claim official bridge withdrawals on Ethereum

So, depending on your situation:

  • You hold anything on Lisk Chain and it's before October 31. Use a fast bridge. It pays you on another network within minutes, and Keylo's swap screen finds these routes. Tokens without a route can be swapped to ETH on Lisk first.

  • You started an official withdrawal by October 24. Prove it on Ethereum as soon as the bridge allows, then claim it before November 2 ends.

  • Your LSK is on Ethereum or an exchange. Do nothing. Lisk says those balances are unaffected.

  • It's after October 31. Nothing on Lisk Chain can be moved any more, by any wallet. The only open task is claiming an official withdrawal you started in time, until the end of November 2.

Why the official bridge closed first#

Lisk Chain is an optimistic rollup. A withdrawal through the official bridge has to wait out a seven-day challenge period on Ethereum before you can claim it, so the whole process takes about eight days. That's why the last start date sat a week before the shutdown.

Fast bridges pay you on the other network from their own funds, so they skip the wait. They only need Lisk Chain to be running when you send.

What a Lisk wallet means in 2026#

Lisk started in 2016 as its own blockchain with its own address format. In May 2024 it moved to an Ethereum layer 2, and LSK became an ERC-20 token on Ethereum that could be bridged across. Lisk announced in August 2026 that it is becoming a finance platform for businesses and closing the chain, with the DAO winding down too. Projects building on Lisk Chain were offered an optional move to Celo.

So "Lisk wallet" can mean three things today:

  • Your Lisk Chain address. A normal 0x address, the same one you have on Ethereum, Base and every other EVM network. It matters only until October 31.

  • LSK on Ethereum. The contract 0x6033F7f88332B8db6ad452B7C6D5bB643990aE3f stays unchanged, and Lisk says there is no token swap. Ethereum is now LSK's primary network.

  • An old Lisk L1 account, from apps like Lisk Desktop or the Lisk Migration Wallet. Keylo works only with the 0x layer 2 address.

Lisk Desktop, Hub, Nano and migration wallets#

If you're looking for an old Lisk desktop or mobile app, Lisk Hub, Lisk Nano or the Lisk Migration Wallet, or for a Lisk wallet download or login page, you probably held LSK on the old chain. Lisk Hub was the earlier name of Lisk Desktop, and Lisk Nano came before it. Their addresses were numbers ending in L (2016 to 2021) or 41 characters starting with lsk (2021 to 2024).

The news there is bad, and it's final. Holders had two years to claim their LSK on the new network, and the window closed on May 21, 2026. Lisk's legacy LSK FAQ says unclaimed LSK can't be claimed or reimbursed, without exception. Most exchanges moved balances they held at the snapshot automatically. So don't download an old wallet app hoping to claim, and never type an old passphrase into a site that promises to.

Your Lisk wallet address#

Your address on Lisk Chain comes from the same key as your Ethereum address, so the two are identical. The balances are not. ETH on Lisk Chain stays there until you bridge it, even though the address looks the same everywhere.

Keylo derives every EVM address on m/44'/60'/0'/0/0, the path MetaMask uses for its first account. If you used Lisk with MetaMask, importing that phrase into Keylo shows the same address and the same Lisk balance.

How to choose a Lisk wallet for the last exits#

Now that new official withdrawals are closed, pick a wallet based on what you still need to do.

  • To leave by fast bridge before October 31, any wallet that can reach routes for Lisk works. Keylo's swap screen gets quotes from LI.FI, which still routed funds out of Lisk Chain on October 24.

  • To prove or claim an official withdrawal you already started, use a wallet that connects to websites, such as MetaMask or Rabby (browser extensions). Keylo can't connect to dapps, so it can't drive the Lisk Bridge site.

  • If your LSK sits on an exchange or on Ethereum, you don't need to do anything for the shutdown.

Keylo doesn't support hardware wallets, so large holders who use one should keep using it through MetaMask or Rabby. Keylo also can't stake or unstake LSK, because it stakes only on Cosmos SDK chains. Its NFT view on Lisk is read-only, with no NFT transfers, and it has no card purchases. The full list of networks Keylo supports is on the networks page.

How to open your Lisk wallet in Keylo#

If a recovery phrase you already have holds funds on Lisk, import it. If you only need a fresh address to receive funds from Lisk on another network, create one.

  1. Open the Keylo sign-up page, fill in your full name, email, phone number and password, then tap Create account.

  2. Confirm your email if Keylo asks you to.

  3. On "Set up your wallet", choose Import a recovery phrase and enter your 12 or 24 words. To start fresh instead, choose Create a new wallet.

  4. Pick Lisk in your asset list. Compare the 0x address with the one you used on Lisk, and check that the balances look right.

  5. List what you hold on Lisk: ETH, LSK, WETH, stablecoins, plus anything staked or deposited in apps.

Keylo encrypts the phrase in your browser with a key made from your password, so Keylo's servers never see it. If you created a new wallet, save its phrase under Settings, Recovery phrase before you move money in. Nobody, Keylo included, can restore the wallet without it.

Open your Lisk address in Keylo

Import the phrase you used on Lisk, check the balance, then swap and bridge out from the same screen before October 31.

Get started

Leave Lisk with a fast bridge before October 31#

This is the only exit left for funds still on Lisk Chain. Keylo gets the routes from LI.FI, which compares bridges and shows each one's cost and time before you sign.

  1. Tap Swap. Under You pay, choose ETH or a token on Lisk and enter an amount, or tap Max.

  2. Under You receive, pick ETH on Ethereum, Base or OP Mainnet, or the same token on another network.

  3. Compare the routes. Each shows the amount you'd get, the time and the fees.

  4. Open the details and check Minimum you receive and Delivered to, which is your own address on the destination network.

  5. Tap Bridge and watch the tracking screen until the funds land.

On October 24, LI.FI quoted ETH from Lisk to Ethereum, Base, OP Mainnet and Arbitrum through Relay, with estimates of a few seconds. It also found direct routes for USDT0 and USDC.e, and for small LSK amounts to Ethereum. A larger LSK quote found no route at all. When a token has no route, swap it to ETH on Lisk first (LI.FI quoted LSK, USDT and USDC.e to ETH), then bridge the ETH.

Liquidity on Lisk is thin and fees are partly fixed. On October 24 a 100 LSK quote lost about 7% on the way to Ethereum, while 0.01 ETH lost under 2%. The quote's Minimum you receive shows the worst case. Any Keylo service fee appears as its own line, and the swap and bridge page explains routes and refunds.

Finish an official withdrawal you already started#

If you started a Lisk Bridge withdrawal by October 24, it isn't finished until you claim it on Ethereum. Lisk's withdrawal guide describes two more steps.

  1. Type bridge.lisk.com into your browser yourself. Lisk asks users not to follow links to it.

  2. Connect the same wallet you started the withdrawal with and open the pending withdrawal.

  3. Submit the prove transaction on Ethereum as soon as the site allows, usually about an hour after you started. The seven-day clock starts here, not at the start.

  4. Seven days after proving, submit the claim transaction on Ethereum. Your ETH or LSK then appears at the same address on Ethereum.

Both steps run on Ethereum, so you need a little ETH there for gas. Lisk's guide also warns that a withdrawal still in its challenge period when the chain closes may not complete, which is one more reason to prove right away. The claim deadline is the end of November 2.

If you started the withdrawal from Keylo's phrase in an extension wallet, install that extension only from the maker's own website or your browser's official store. Fake wallet apps are a classic way to steal phrases during a migration.

WETH, staked LSK and DeFi positions#

Some balances need an extra step before a fast bridge can move them.

WETH on Lisk#

The Lisk Bridge never accepted WETH, and Lisk's FAQ says to unwrap it to ETH using the WETH contract's withdraw function on Blockscout. In Keylo, the swap screen can do the same thing: on October 24 LI.FI returned an unwrap route from WETH to ETH on Lisk, and a route straight to ETH on Base.

Staked LSK#

New staking is closed, and ending a lock is now penalty-free. In the Lisk Portal you end the lock, wait three days, then unstake. The LSK doesn't come back by itself, so finish that last step and claim any outstanding rewards too.

Keylo can't stake or unstake LSK, so use the Lisk Portal. Because of the three-day wait, a lock ended later than about October 27 may not release before the shutdown. Once released, the LSK can leave only through a fast bridge, directly or after a swap to ETH.

Deposits in apps#

Withdraw lending deposits and liquidity positions inside each app first. Lisk warns that projects moving to Celo may set earlier deadlines of their own, so check each app now.

Check your Lisk address before you receive anything#

Don't ask anyone to send you funds on Lisk now. Sometimes you still need to, for example when you consolidate two accounts before bridging. In that case, and only before October 31:

  1. Tap Receive and choose Lisk. The screen reads "Receive on Lisk".

  2. Tap Copy or Share, or show the QR code.

  3. Make sure the sender picks Lisk, then bridge the funds out the same day.

Keylo's Receive screen showing a Lisk address and QR code
Keylo's Receive screen for Lisk

The Receive screen also notes that your address is the same on every EVM network. So if someone sends to you on Ethereum or Base instead, the funds land there and never touch Lisk.

Sending on Lisk#

To consolidate, tap Send, pick the asset on Lisk, paste or scan the address in To, then tap Review. Choose Slow, Normal or Fast, check the network, recipient and fee, and tap Send. The status changes from "On its way" to "Sent", with a View on Blockscout link.

Fees on Lisk and on Ethereum#

Lisk Chain fees are tiny. On October 24 the gas price was about 0.001 gwei, so a plain ETH transfer cost around 0.00000003 ETH, including the small charge for posting data to Ethereum. Keylo adds nothing to a normal send.

The costs that matter are elsewhere:

  • Fast bridges. Each quote includes the bridge's fee and any price impact. On small amounts a fixed fee can be several percent, so compare the routes.

  • Swaps on Lisk. Selling LSK or stablecoins for ETH in thin pools costs more than the fee line suggests. Watch the minimum amount.

  • Official claims. Prove and claim are Ethereum transactions, paid in mainnet gas.

Keep a little ETH on Lisk until you finish. Every swap and bridge from Lisk needs ETH for gas, even when you move tokens.

Lisk shutdown scams to watch for#

Shutdowns attract scammers because everyone is in a hurry. The usual tricks:

  • Fake migration and swap sites. Messages promise a "Lisk migration", "token swap" or "LSK v2 claim". Lisk says there is no swap and no new contract.

  • Recovery offers. After October 31, anyone claiming they can retrieve funds from Lisk Chain or old L1 accounts is lying.

  • Fake support. Nobody legitimate needs your recovery phrase to move funds. Keylo staff never ask for it either. Reach Keylo through the support page.

  • Lookalike tokens. Check token contracts on Blockscout before swapping. LSK on Lisk is 0xac485391EB2d7D88253a7F1eF18C37f4242D1A24.

  • Address poisoning. Scammers send tiny transfers from addresses that resemble yours. Copy destination addresses from the original source, never from your history.

Turn on two-factor authentication and an anti-phishing code in Keylo's settings, and read how Keylo secures your wallet. Once your funds land, the Ethereum wallet guide and the Base wallet guide cover holding them there. If you build on Lisk, the Celo wallet guide explains the network Lisk projects were invited to join.

Run through this list while the chain still runs:

  1. You know every asset you hold on Lisk, including staked LSK and app deposits.

  2. You hold a little ETH on Lisk for gas.

  3. Your biggest balance moved first, by fast bridge or a swap to ETH and then a bridge.

  4. Any official withdrawal you started by October 24 is proven, with a reminder to claim it by November 2.

Leave Lisk with a wallet you control

Keylo shows your Lisk balance, finds routes out and delivers the funds to your own address on the next network.

Lisk wallet FAQ#

Is Lisk shutting down?

Lisk Chain, the Ethereum layer 2, shuts down on October 31, 2026, and Lisk says assets left on it after that can't be recovered. The company continues as a business finance platform, and the LSK token continues on Ethereum under the same contract. Only balances on Lisk Chain itself had to move, and official withdrawals started by October 24 must be claimed by November 2.

What can I still do after the Lisk Bridge deadline?

October 24, 2026 was the last day to start an official withdrawal. Until the chain shuts down on October 31, you can still leave through a fast bridge, which Keylo's swap screen finds through LI.FI, swapping tokens to ETH first if they have no route. If you started an official withdrawal in time, prove it and claim it on Ethereum by the end of November 2.

Can I still claim LSK from an old Lisk Desktop, Hub or Nano wallet?

No. LSK from the old Lisk L1 chain, at addresses ending in L or starting with lsk, had to be claimed on the new network between May 21, 2024 and May 21, 2026. That window has closed, and Lisk says unclaimed tokens can't be claimed or reimbursed. If you held LSK on an exchange at the snapshot, the exchange usually moved it for you.

What happens to my LSK after October 31, 2026?

It depends on where it is. LSK on Ethereum or on an exchange is unaffected and needs no action, because the Ethereum contract stays the same. LSK still on Lisk Chain after the shutdown is lost. Lisk also says a one-time burn of 100 million LSK cuts total supply from 400 million to 300 million.

How do I finish a Lisk Bridge withdrawal I already started?

Go to bridge.lisk.com by typing it yourself, connect the wallet you started with and open the pending withdrawal. Submit the prove transaction on Ethereum as soon as it's allowed, wait the seven-day challenge period, then claim. Both steps need ETH on Ethereum for gas, and Lisk's claim deadline is the end of November 2, 2026.

How do I unstake LSK before the shutdown?

Use the Lisk Portal. Ending the lock is penalty-free, then a three-day wait applies before you can unstake, and the LSK doesn't return to you automatically. Claim your rewards too. With the official bridge closed to new withdrawals, plan to move released LSK by fast bridge, or swap it to ETH on Lisk and bridge that before October 31.

Is my Lisk wallet address the same as my Ethereum address?

Yes. Lisk Chain uses Ethereum-style accounts, so one key gives the same 0x address on Lisk, Ethereum, Base and other EVM networks. The balances are separate, though. Funds you bridge from Lisk arrive at that same address on the destination network, where Keylo shows them under that network's name.

Where should I keep LSK after the shutdown?

On Ethereum, which Lisk now calls LSK's primary network, or on an exchange that lists it. Lisk names Binance, OKX and Kraken among current listings and says it is keeping them. Whatever you choose, check the contract address, 0x6033F7f88332B8db6ad452B7C6D5bB643990aE3f on Ethereum, against Lisk's official sources before you buy or receive LSK.
