A MegaETH wallet is an Ethereum-style wallet that holds ETH and tokens on MegaETH, a layer 2 network built for real-time apps. Your address is the same 0x address you use on Ethereum, and every fee is paid in ETH. A transfer costs a tiny fraction of a cent, and apps can see the result within milliseconds.
MegaETH is young, so the traps are mostly about getting money in and out. Not every exchange supports it, its own MEGA token isn't the gas coin, and the official bridge back to Ethereum takes more than a week. Plan around those three things and the rest feels like any EVM network. Figures below are as of October 2026.

How a MegaETH wallet works#
MegaETH runs Ethereum's account model, so wallets treat it like Base or Arbitrum. The difference is the engine. A single, powerful sequencer orders and executes transactions as they arrive. It publishes the data to EigenDA, a separate data network, and anchors the results to Ethereum.
Your MegaETH wallet address#
Your MegaETH wallet address is your usual 0x address, created from the same key as on Ethereum. In Keylo it comes from m/44'/60'/0'/0/0, the path MetaMask uses for its first account, and all of Keylo's EVM networks share it.
Balances don't travel with the address, though. ETH on Ethereum stays there until you bridge it, and ETH on MegaETH shows only on MegaETH. There's no activation, memo or minimum balance, so the address can receive right away.
Mini blocks and EVM blocks#
MegaETH produces two kinds of blocks. The sequencer seals a mini block about every 10 milliseconds and streams its results to nodes at once. Every second or so it packs the mini blocks from that interval into a standard EVM block. The mini block docs explain the split.
Apps built for MegaETH read the mini blocks, which is why games and trading screens can react almost instantly. Ordinary wallets, Keylo included, work with the one-second EVM blocks. Keylo checks the status a few seconds after you send, so a transfer usually shows "Sent" on that first check.
How to choose a MegaETH wallet#
MegaETH's own guide says to use MetaMask, Rabby or any Ethereum-compatible wallet. The choice depends on what you'll do there.
Extension wallets. MetaMask and Rabby are browser extensions. They connect to MegaETH apps and the official bridge once you add the network.
MOSS. MegaETH's own embedded wallet, which apps built on MegaETH open inside their pages. Its docs say it isn't a browser extension, and WalletConnect support is still on its roadmap.
Hardware wallets. A Ledger or similar device keeps your key offline and signs through an extension. So it suits a balance you want to park.
Exchange accounts. Useful for buying ETH, but they hold the keys, and not all of them list MegaETH.
Web wallets. Keylo runs in a browser tab without an install. It has no extension or app-store app, but you can add it to your home screen.
On MegaETH, a good wallet asks the network for its gas estimate instead of guessing. That matters more here than on most chains, as the fee section explains. It should also warn about contract recipients and show token contract addresses.
Keylo suits holding ETH and stablecoins on MegaETH, sending them, and swapping or bridging with one phrase across chains. It doesn't suit using MegaETH's real-time apps, because Keylo can't connect to dapps.
How to create a MegaETH wallet in Keylo#
MegaETH is already in Keylo's list, so you never type a chain ID or RPC address.
Open the sign-up page and enter your full name, email, phone number and a password, twice. Tick the terms and tap Create account.
Confirm your email if the "Check your inbox" screen appears.
Tap Create a new wallet. The browser builds a 12-word recovery phrase and encrypts it with a key derived from your password, using Argon2id and AES-256-GCM. Keylo's server keeps only that encrypted copy.
Choose MegaETH in your asset list to see your ETH balance and
0xaddress.Save the 12 words. Go to Settings, then Recovery phrase, enter your password, write them on paper and confirm the ones Keylo asks for.
Also in Settings, enable Two-factor authentication and set an Anti-phishing code.
The paper copy is what keeps the wallet yours, because Keylo has no way to read it and a password reset doesn't decrypt anything.
Importing a MetaMask or Rabby wallet#
Pick Import a recovery phrase and type your 12 or 24 words. Your first account appears at the same address, with the ETH and tokens it holds on MegaETH. Accounts you added later in those apps sit on other paths and won't show, though their funds are untouched.
Keylo doesn't include the MegaETH testnet. Since fees are tiny, a small real transfer makes a cheap first test.
Get your MegaETH address in a minute
Register with an email and password. Keylo creates the wallet in your browser and gives you one 0x address for MegaETH and every other EVM network.
How to receive ETH and USDm on MegaETH#
Tap Receive and select MegaETH. The screen shows "Receive on MegaETH" and a QR code.
Share "Your MegaETH address" with Copy or Share, or let the sender scan it.
On an exchange, pick MegaETH as the withdrawal network, if it's listed. If not, withdraw to Ethereum, Base or Arbitrum and bridge across.
Watch your MegaETH activity list. Keylo reads MegaETH's explorer, so incoming transfers appear there shortly after they land, tokens included.

Keylo's Receive screen notes that the address is shared across EVM networks. If an exchange sends on Base or Arbitrum instead, the funds still reach you on that network. Keylo lists them there, and you can bridge them to MegaETH.
How to send ETH and tokens on MegaETH#
Tap Send, then ETH or a MegaETH token.
Paste or scan the recipient into To. Keylo checks the format and checksum.
Enter an amount, or tap Max to send all your ETH except the fee.
Tap Review and pick Slow, Normal or Fast, each with its cost.
Check the network, recipient and fee in ETH.
Tap Send. Keylo signs in your browser and shows "On its way", then "Sent", with a link to Etherscan's MegaETH explorer.
Keylo asks a MegaETH node to estimate gas for each transfer, which runs it in simulation first. A send that would fail stops on the review screen, and a token sent to its own contract gets blocked. Keylo warns when the recipient is a smart contract. If you hold USDm but no ETH, it tells you to get ETH on MegaETH for the fee.
Before sending to an exchange, check that it accepts deposits on MegaETH for that exact token. A deposit on an unsupported network may need a slow recovery request, if the exchange helps at all. Speed up exists for stuck transfers, but with one-second blocks you'll rarely see one.
MegaETH gas fees explained#
You pay gas in ETH. On October 24, 2026, MegaETH's public RPC quoted a gas price of 0.001 gwei and a priority tip of zero.
The unusual part is the gas count. MegaETH charges two kinds of gas: compute gas, which matches Ethereum's costs, and storage gas for anything that writes lasting data. Every transaction pays at least 60,000 gas, made of 21,000 compute and 39,000 storage. A wallet that assumes Ethereum's 21,000 gets rejected with "intrinsic gas too low". The gas model docs tell wallets to ask the network instead.
At 60,000 gas and 0.001 gwei, a transfer costs about 0.00000006 ETH. With ETH near $2,360 on October 24, 2026, that's roughly $0.00014. Token transfers cost more, because their call data and event logs also use storage gas, but they still cost a tiny fraction of a cent. The three fee levels in Keylo usually cost about the same, and Keylo adds nothing to a normal send.
Tokens on MegaETH: USDm, MEGA and others#
MegaETH tokens use ERC-20, and all of them need ETH for gas. Names and logos are easy to fake, so use the contracts MegaETH lists on its contracts page:
USDm
0xFAfDdbb3FC7688494971a79cc65DCa3EF82079E7, MegaETH's own stablecoin, which its docs describe as backed by Treasury-based reserves.MEGA
0x28B7E77f82B25B95953825F1E3eA0E36c1c29861, the network's own token, live since April 30, 2026. It doesn't pay gas.USDT0
0xB8CE59FC3717ada4C02eaDF9682A9e934F625ebb, Tether's dollar token on MegaETH.WETH
0x4200000000000000000000000000000000000006, wrapped ETH for apps that need an ERC-20.
Keylo reads MegaETH's Blockscout explorer, so every ERC-20 at your address shows up by itself, USDm and MEGA included. Spam tokens show up too, so judge a token by its contract, not by its presence in your list. MegaETH is also one of the networks with a read-only Collectibles view in Keylo: you can see NFTs at your address, but not send them.
Bridging to and from MegaETH#
MegaETH's guide recommends its Rabbithole portal for most people. It bridges through LI.FI, converts USDC to USDm at 1:1, and sells ETH or stablecoins by card through an on-ramp partner. The guide also lists third-party bridges such as Across, Relay, Stargate and Jumper. All of these are websites you connect a wallet to.
The slow part is going back to Ethereum through the official route. L2BEAT lists a 7-day challenge period for withdrawals, plus further delays in some cases, so plan on more than a week. Fast bridges pay you on Ethereum from their own funds and skip that wait.
Keylo uses LI.FI, which compares those fast bridges and MegaETH DEXs:
Tap Swap. Under You pay, choose ETH or a token on MegaETH, or on the chain you're coming from.
Under You receive, pick the destination network and token.
Compare the routes on output, fees and time.
Check Minimum you receive and Delivered to, which is your own address on the other chain.
If you're spending a token, approve the amount when Keylo asks, then confirm and follow the tracker.
A bridge either delivers or refunds, sometimes as a different token that still lands in your wallet. Slippage defaults to 0.5%, and any Keylo service fee has its own line. More on the Keylo swap and bridge page.
Bridging in for the first time? Bring ETH, not only USDm, because tokens can't move without gas.
Is MegaETH safe? Risks and scams to avoid#
MegaETH asks for more trust than older layer 2s. L2BEAT says it doesn't yet meet Stage 0. Because its data lives on EigenDA rather than Ethereum, L2BEAT counts it as a validium or optimium rather than a rollup. One sequencer runs the chain, and L2BEAT lists a 6-of-10 admin multisig and contract upgrades with no delay. That doesn't make it unsafe to use, but it's a reason to keep large savings elsewhere.
Then there are the familiar everyday risks:
Fake MEGA and USDm. Compare the contract, not the logo.
Allocation checkers. Pages that offer to check your MEGA allocation are a favorite drainer trick. Use only links you reach from megaeth.com.
Drainer sites. Fake airdrops and points pages ask you to sign approvals. Keylo can't sign requests from websites, so it blocks that route.
Unsupported deposits. Confirm an exchange accepts MegaETH for that token before you send.
Address poisoning. Copy addresses from the source, never from your activity history.
Fake support. Keylo staff never ask for your phrase or password. Contact the team through Keylo's support page, and read how Keylo protects your keys.
Keylo's limits apply here too. It has no browser extension or WalletConnect, so MegaETH apps and the Rabbithole site can't connect to it. It doesn't stake, send NFTs, pair with hardware wallets or sell crypto by card. It's non-custodial as well: if you lose both your password and your phrase, nobody can get the wallet back. The full network list shows where else your phrase works.
Before your first real transfer:
The phrase is on paper, and Keylo has confirmed it.
You hold ETH on MegaETH for gas.
The exchange accepts MegaETH for this token, or you're bridging instead.
The token contract matches the list above.
A small test arrived first.
The same phrase covers the networks you'll bridge from. See the Ethereum wallet guide, the Base wallet guide and the Arbitrum wallet guide.
Keep ETH on MegaETH in a wallet only you control
Keylo encrypts your recovery phrase on your device and never sees it. Send, swap and bridge from one place.
MegaETH wallet FAQ#
Do I pay gas in ETH or MEGA on MegaETH?
In ETH. MegaETH is an Ethereum layer 2, and every fee is paid in ETH, including fees for moving USDm or MEGA. MEGA is the network's own token, launched on April 30, 2026, but it can't pay for gas. Keep a little ETH on MegaETH next to your tokens so you can always move them.
Is my MegaETH address the same as my Ethereum address?
Yes. MegaETH uses Ethereum's account format, so one key gives you the same 0x address on both and on every other EVM network. The balances are separate, though. ETH on Ethereum doesn't appear on MegaETH until you bridge it. In Keylo, open MegaETH in your asset list to see what that address holds there.
What is the MOSS wallet on MegaETH?
MOSS is MegaETH's own embedded wallet. Apps built on MegaETH open it inside their pages, so you sign there without installing anything. Its docs say it isn't a browser extension, and WalletConnect support is still on the roadmap. Keylo is a separate web wallet that can't connect to apps, but it can send ETH or tokens on MegaETH to a MOSS address like any other.
Is a MegaETH wallet allocation checker safe?
Treat it with suspicion. MEGA went live on April 30, 2026, and MegaETH says over half the supply is reserved for distribution as the network hits future milestones, which gives scammers a ready story. Reach any checker or claim page only through megaeth.com, and never type your recovery phrase into one. Keylo can't connect to claim sites, so it can't be tricked into signing for one.
How much does a transaction cost on MegaETH?
Very little. On October 24, 2026, the gas price was 0.001 gwei, and a simple transfer uses at least 60,000 gas, so it cost about 0.00000006 ETH, roughly $0.00014. Token transfers use more gas, for their call data and event logs, but stay cheap. Keylo shows the exact fee before you sign.
Why does a MegaETH transfer use 60,000 gas?
MegaETH charges compute gas, which matches Ethereum, plus storage gas for data the chain has to keep. Every transaction carries a base cost of 21,000 compute and 39,000 storage gas. Wallets that hard-code Ethereum's 21,000 get an intrinsic gas too low error. Keylo asks the MegaETH network to estimate gas, so its fee includes both parts.
How long does it take to withdraw from MegaETH to Ethereum?
Through the official route, more than a week. L2BEAT lists a 7-day challenge period for withdrawals, plus further delays in some cases. Fast bridges such as Across or Relay pay you on Ethereum from their own liquidity, usually within minutes. In Keylo, open Swap, choose ETH on MegaETH and ETH on Ethereum, and compare the routes LI.FI finds.
What is USDm?
USDm is MegaETH's own dollar stablecoin, and its MegaETH contract is 0xFAfDdbb3FC7688494971a79cc65DCa3EF82079E7. It's an ERC-20, so moving it needs ETH for gas. Check the contract before you accept or send it, since fake tokens can copy the name. In Keylo, USDm appears on its own once your address holds some.
What are mini blocks?
Mini blocks are MegaETH's fast lane. The sequencer seals one about every 10 milliseconds and streams the results right away, so apps built for MegaETH can react almost instantly. About every second, the latest mini blocks form one standard EVM block, which ordinary wallets read. Keylo works from those EVM blocks, so a transfer shows Sent within a few seconds.
Is MegaETH safe to use?
It works, but it asks for trust. L2BEAT says MegaETH doesn't yet meet Stage 0. Its data sits on EigenDA rather than Ethereum, one sequencer runs the chain, and contract upgrades have no delay. Using it for everyday amounts is reasonable. For long-term savings, a more mature network or a hardware wallet on Ethereum is the safer home.
