An Immutable wallet is any wallet that holds IMX, game currencies and in-game items on Immutable zkEVM, the gaming chain Immutable now calls Immutable Chain. It uses a normal 0x address and charges every fee in IMX. Most players never think about this, because they log in to games with Passport, and Immutable pays the gas for Passport users.
A wallet of your own changes that. Your recovery phrase controls the address instead of a login, and you pay the gas yourself, including a minimum tip every transaction must carry. Below: how the two kinds of wallet fit together, how to get IMX onto the right chain and how to move it safely. Figures are as of October 2026.

How an Immutable wallet works#
Immutable zkEVM runs on a fork of geth, Ethereum's main client, so wallets treat it like any EVM network. Your recovery phrase produces one address that works here, on Ethereum and on every other EVM network, and Keylo derives it on m/44'/60'/0'/0/0, the path MetaMask uses for its first account. Nothing needs activating before it can receive.
Your Immutable wallet address and IMX on two chains#
IMX exists in two places, and both can sit at your one address:
IMX on Immutable zkEVM is the native coin, and it pays every fee on the chain.
IMX on Ethereum is an ERC-20 token. Moving it costs ETH, and it can't pay Immutable fees until you bridge it. The canonical bridge credits it as native IMX when it lands.
Keylo lists the two separately, so the balance under Immutable zkEVM is the one games and marketplaces on the chain can use.
A Passport has its own 0x address, separate from the one your phrase creates. You'll find it in the Wallet tab at Immutable Play, which is where Passport sends and receives tokens.
What happened to Immutable X#
Immutable X, Immutable's first network, merged into Immutable zkEVM on March 5, 2026, and no longer processes transactions. Immutable's deprecation notice says tokens moved straight to Immutable zkEVM, in the same wallet you used before. Most NFTs moved too, but some games run their own migration, so ask the game if an item is missing.
Immutable Passport vs a self-custody wallet#
On Immutable, the first choice is a login wallet or a wallet you hold the keys to.
Immutable Passport is the wallet most games create for you. You sign in with Google, Apple or email, with no seed phrase to back up. Each Passport is a smart contract wallet that needs your signature plus Immutable's guardian key, so Immutable enforces security rules but can't move funds alone. Immutable also pays their gas. The catch: Passport fully supports only Immutable's chain. Its docs say funds sent to a Passport address on Ethereum can be moved over through Immutable Play, but on other chains they're stuck.
Extension and mobile wallets. MetaMask is a browser extension and mobile app that can add Immutable zkEVM as a network. It connects to marketplaces and game sites, and it uses a recovery phrase you keep.
Hardware wallets. A device such as a Ledger keeps the keys offline and signs through a software wallet, which suits valuable items and large IMX balances.
Web wallets. These run in a browser tab with nothing to install. Keylo is one.
Many players keep both: Passport for playing, and a self-custody wallet for IMX and tokens they want to keep. Moving value between them is a plain transfer on Immutable zkEVM.
Keylo fits the second role. It holds IMX and game tokens, shows your items, and sends, swaps or bridges tokens. It runs in any modern browser and can sit on your home screen, but there's no extension or app-store app. It can't log in to games or marketplaces, because it doesn't connect to dapps, and it can't transfer NFTs.
How to create an Immutable wallet in Keylo#
Immutable zkEVM is built into Keylo, so there's nothing to configure.
Visit the Keylo registration form. Enter your full name, email, phone number and a password, confirm the password, accept the terms and tap Create account.
If Keylo says "Check your inbox", follow the link in its email.
When "Set up your wallet" appears, tap Create a new wallet. Your browser then generates a 12-word recovery phrase and encrypts it with a key from your password, so Keylo's server holds only ciphertext.
On the home screen, type Immutable into Find a network or coin and open Immutable zkEVM. Your address and IMX balance show there.
Save the phrase on paper. Go to Settings, then Recovery phrase, enter your password and tap Show my phrase. Write the 12 words in order, tap I wrote them down and pick three of them when Keylo asks.
Switch on Two-factor authentication and set an Anti-phishing code, also in Settings.
Treat the paper phrase as the wallet itself. A password reset won't decrypt anything, and Keylo has no readable copy it could restore.
Importing from MetaMask, and why Passport is different#
If you've played with MetaMask, choose Import a recovery phrase and enter your 12 or 24 words. Your first MetaMask account appears with the same Immutable balance. Accounts you added later use other paths and won't show up.
Passport works differently. It has no recovery phrase you could type into Keylo or MetaMask, so there's nothing to import. To bring Passport funds across, send them from the Wallet tab at Immutable Play to your Keylo address on Immutable zkEVM.
Keylo doesn't include Immutable's testnet, but with fees this low, a small real transfer is the cheapest way to practice.
Get a self-custody Immutable address in a minute
Sign up with email and a password. Keylo creates the wallet in your browser, with one 0x address for Immutable zkEVM and every other EVM network.
How to receive IMX on Immutable zkEVM#
Tap Receive and choose Immutable zkEVM. The screen reads "Receive on Immutable zkEVM" and shows a QR code under "Your Immutable zkEVM address".
Tap Copy or Share.
If you're withdrawing from an exchange, look for Immutable zkEVM (sometimes Immutable Chain) in the network list. If it only offers Ethereum, the IMX arrives as an ERC-20 token under Ethereum.
From Passport, open the Wallet tab at Immutable Play and send to your Keylo address on Immutable zkEVM.
Check your activity list. Immutable confirms in about two seconds, and each entry links to Immutable Explorer.

The Receive screen also notes that your address is the same on every EVM network, so IMX sent on Ethereum by mistake sits under Ethereum in Keylo, ready to bridge. Passport addresses don't work that way.
How to send IMX and game tokens#
Tap Send and choose IMX or a token on Immutable zkEVM.
Paste or scan the recipient in To. Keylo checks the format and checksum.
Enter an amount or tap Max, which leaves enough IMX for the fee.
Tap Review and pick Normal or Fast (more on why below).
Check the network, the full address and the fee in IMX.
Tap Send. Keylo signs on your device, then shows "On its way", "Sent" and a View on Immutable Explorer link.
Warnings on Immutable#
Keylo test-runs each transfer before you sign, so it can stop one your balance can't cover or the token contract would reject. It also warns about the mistakes that cost players money:
A contract as recipient. Marketplace and game contracts can't always accept a plain token transfer, so tokens sent there may be lost. Passport wallets become smart contracts after their first transaction, so a used Passport address shows this warning too. Sending to your own Passport on Immutable zkEVM is fine.
The token's own contract. Sending a game token to its contract address gets blocked.
A non-EVM address. A Solana or Bitcoin address produces an error, not a send.
No IMX for gas. A token transfer stops with the message above.
Before you send IMX to an exchange, confirm its deposit page accepts IMX on Immutable zkEVM, not only on Ethereum.
Immutable gas fees and the 10 gwei tip#
Immutable zkEVM prices gas like Ethereum, with a base fee plus a priority fee, all paid in IMX. Its one unusual rule comes from Immutable's own docs: every transaction must include a priority fee of at least 10 gwei. The base fee is close to zero, so that tip is nearly the whole fee.
Here's what that looked like on October 24, 2026. The base fee was 49 wei, a tiny fraction of one gwei, and the network suggested an 11 gwei tip. With IMX near $0.14, a plain IMX transfer (21,000 gas) cost about 0.00023 IMX, and a token transfer usually two or three times that. Both stay far below one cent.
Choose Normal or Fast in Keylo. The Slow option bids 90% of the suggested tip, which came to 9.9 gwei that day, just under Immutable's floor, so a Slow transfer may not go through. The price gap is a tiny fraction of a cent anyway. If a transfer ever sits pending, Speed up resends it with a higher fee. Keylo adds nothing to a normal send.
Game tokens, items and stablecoins on Immutable#
Keylo reads your Immutable balances from the explorer, so game currencies, wrapped IMX and bridged stablecoins you hold appear without any setup. Anyone can copy a token's name, so compare contracts with the ones Immutable's bridging docs list:
USDC
0x6de8aCC0D406837030CE4dd28e7c08C5a96a30d2USDT
0x68bcc7F1190AF20e7b572BCfb431c3Ac10A936AbWrapped ETH
0x52a6c53869ce09a731cd772f245b97a4401d3348Wrapped IMX
0x3a0c2ba54d6cbd3121f01b96dfd20e99d1696c9d
If a token you hold ever fails to appear, add it under Settings, Networks, Custom tokens with Add token.
Items work differently. Immutable is one of the networks where Keylo shows a Collectibles section: once your address holds NFTs, a read-only grid shows them, each linking to Immutable Explorer. You can see cards, skins and characters there, but you can't send, list or trade them from Keylo. For that, use Passport, the game itself or a wallet that connects to marketplaces.
The grid carries a warning too, because anyone can send you an NFT. Fakes copy real collections and put "claim your reward" links in their name or image, and those links lead to drainer sites.
Bridging IMX between Ethereum and Immutable#
Immutable's bridging docs list a few routes:
The canonical bridge, through Immutable's Toolkit site or, for Passport users, Immutable Play. It carries ETH, IMX, USDC, USDT, wBTC and other mapped tokens. Deposits take about 15 to 30 minutes. Withdrawals take up to 24 hours, then you claim them on Ethereum, paying ETH gas.
Rate limits. A withdrawal above a token's large-withdrawal threshold waits in a 24-hour queue. If withdrawals in a four-hour window pass the bridge's limit, all of them wait for manual review.
Third-party routes such as LayerSwap, a liquidity network, and Squid, a cross-chain router. Both usually take minutes.
Keylo's swap screen uses LI.FI, which compares bridges and exchanges for you:
Tap Swap and pick what you're spending under You pay, for example IMX on Ethereum (which costs ETH gas there).
Under You receive, choose Immutable zkEVM and IMX.
Compare routes, then check Minimum you receive and Delivered to, your own Immutable address.
Confirm and follow the tracker until the IMX lands.
Default slippage is 0.5%, and any Keylo service fee appears on its own line. A bridge either delivers or returns your funds, sometimes as a different token that still reaches your wallet. More detail is on Keylo's swap and bridge page.
What Keylo doesn't do on Immutable#
No game or marketplace logins. Keylo has no browser extension and no WalletConnect, so it can't sign in to games, Immutable Play or marketplaces.
No wallet linking. Linking an outside wallet to a Passport account takes a signed message, and Keylo doesn't sign messages for websites.
No NFT transfers. The Collectibles view is read-only. Move items with Passport or another wallet.
No staking. Keylo stakes only on Cosmos SDK chains. IMX staking runs through the IMX Ecosystem Foundation at
imx.community, with a wallet that connects. No testnet, hardware wallets or card purchases.
Keylo is fully non-custodial. If you lose both your password and your recovery phrase, nobody can get the wallet back, including Keylo. The Keylo network list shows every chain the same phrase covers.
Immutable scams and risks#
Fake wallet extensions. Passport's docs say it needs no download or browser extension, so an "Immutable wallet extension" offered in an ad or DM is a red flag.
Fake item drops. Unrequested NFTs with links in their name or image lead to drainer sites. Ignore them.
Fake game support. Scammers on Discord and in DMs offer to fix your account or recover items. Real support never needs your recovery phrase, and Keylo staff never ask for it. Use the Keylo support page and read about Keylo's account protections.
Fake migration sites. Immutable X tokens moved automatically in March 2026. If a game still migrates its NFTs, follow only the game's official site, and never enter your recovery phrase.
The chain's security model also matters for larger balances. As of October 2026, L2BEAT describes Immutable zkEVM as a sidechain and lists it under "Others". Its proof system isn't working yet, so invalid state roots aren't ruled out, and its transaction data isn't posted to Ethereum. The bridge relies on Axelar's validators, and a 4-of-6 multisig can upgrade it without delay. That's fine for game balances, but keep large savings on a network with stronger guarantees.
Before a real transfer, check that:
Your phrase is on paper and confirmed in Keylo.
Your Keylo wallet holds some IMX on Immutable zkEVM.
The exchange or recipient accepts this token on Immutable zkEVM.
You chose Normal or Fast on the review screen.
A small test arrived first.
Your phrase also works on other gaming and EVM networks. See the Ronin wallet guide and the Ethereum wallet guide.
Keep your IMX in a wallet only you control
Keylo encrypts your recovery phrase on your device and never sees it. Hold IMX and game tokens, see your items and swap or bridge in one place.
Immutable wallet FAQ#
What is the difference between Immutable Passport and MetaMask or Keylo?
Passport is a login wallet: you sign in with Google, Apple or email, Immutable co-signs every transaction for security, and Immutable pays your gas. There's no recovery phrase. MetaMask and Keylo are self-custody wallets controlled by a phrase you keep, and you pay gas in IMX yourself. MetaMask can connect to games and marketplaces. Keylo can't, but it runs in any browser with nothing to install.
Can I import my Immutable Passport wallet into MetaMask or Keylo?
No. Passport doesn't give you a recovery phrase, so there's nothing to enter in another wallet. You can still move your funds. In the Wallet tab at Immutable Play, send IMX or tokens to your MetaMask or Keylo address on Immutable zkEVM, and they arrive within seconds. Items can go the same way, but Keylo only displays NFTs, so send items you trade to a wallet that can move them.
How do I send IMX to MetaMask?
Send IMX on Immutable zkEVM to your MetaMask address. To see it there, add the network in MetaMask with chain ID 13371 and the RPC https://rpc.immutable.com. From Keylo, pick IMX under Immutable zkEVM, paste the address and choose Normal or Fast. From an exchange, choose the Immutable zkEVM network if it's offered, or the IMX arrives as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum instead.
Is there an Immutable wallet app or extension?
Passport, the wallet most Immutable games use, needs no download or extension. Immutable's docs say you sign in with Google, Apple or email, and you manage the wallet in your browser at Immutable Play. If you want an extension wallet, MetaMask works on Immutable zkEVM. Keylo is a web wallet with no extension or app-store app, but you can add it to your phone's home screen.
What is the 10 gwei minimum tip on Immutable?
Immutable's docs require a priority fee of at least 10 gwei on every Immutable zkEVM transaction. The base fee is close to zero, so the tip makes up nearly all of each fee. It's still cheap: an IMX transfer cost about 0.00023 IMX in October 2026. In Keylo, choose Normal or Fast, because Slow bids 90% of the network's suggestion and can land just under the floor.
How long does it take to withdraw from Immutable zkEVM to Ethereum?
Through the canonical bridge, Immutable's docs say up to 24 hours. Then you claim the funds on Ethereum, paying ETH gas. Large withdrawals wait in a 24-hour queue, and a rush of withdrawals can hold them all for review. Third-party routes, including those Keylo finds through LI.FI, often finish in minutes and show their timing before you confirm.
Can I see my Immutable NFTs in Keylo?
Yes, as a read-only view. Open Immutable zkEVM in Keylo and the Collectibles section shows the NFTs at your address. You can't send, list or sell them from Keylo, so use Passport, the game or a marketplace-connected wallet for that. Treat any unexpected NFT with a link in its name as a scam.
What happened to Immutable X?
Immutable X, Immutable's original StarkEx network for NFT trading, merged into Immutable zkEVM on March 5, 2026, and stopped processing transactions. Immutable says tokens moved automatically to the same wallet on Immutable zkEVM, and most NFTs did too, though some games migrate items their own way. Old guides and links for Immutable X are out of date, so treat unexpected migration requests with suspicion.
Is Immutable zkEVM a real zk rollup?
Not yet. As of October 2026, L2BEAT describes it as a sidechain and lists it under "Others", because its proof system isn't working and its data isn't posted to Ethereum. Its bridge relies on Axelar validators and a multisig that can upgrade contracts without delay. Immutable plans to add zero-knowledge proofs later, so for now keep large savings elsewhere.
